All about the role:
As software is playing an increasingly significant role in enabling digital consumer experiences, we are gearing up to become more agile, faster in responding to market demands and quicker in identifying new market opportunities. This involves elevating our appliances to digital, software-defined products in a seamless integration of modular electronics, software, and connectivity platform.
We’re looking for a SW Engineer in Test with HIL(Hardware in the loop)/SIL(Software in the loop) experience to join us on our journey.
What you'll do:
Join the team developing Electrolux’s next generation digital appliances. Build the user experience of our future appliance electronics and connected ecosystems. Work closely with the cross functional team to bring new consumer experiences from concept to launch with updates throughout product lifecycle. Bring the technical excellence and collaboration skills we need in the heart of our digital transformation.
In detail, you will:
- Contribute to design the test automation strategy for electronic platforms and implement scripting/tools and systems that enable that strategy.
- Co-design and maintain the HIL world-wide portfolios to ensure that our HIL architecture is scalable to fit different product capabilities, compute capabilities, brands, and markets.
- Day to day HIL maintenance to enable smooth automated software testing.
- Develop automatic test cases to test and improve the quality of our appliance firmware.
- Be the point of contact for embedded Devops.
- 360° vision: to keep everything under control and well tested to guarantee the requested quality by the entire product.
- Work together with developers, other testers, designers, and product managers with shared responsibility for the teams’ success.
- Develop and maintain the toolchain to test individual components and the integrated system (e.g. Jenkins, Circle-CI, Bitbucket integration, test servers, real electronics boards, etc.)
Who you are:
- You have 2+ years’ experience quality assurance for embedded devices for consumer users.
- You understand Software Quality Processes: continuous integration, SCRUM, test methodologies, test management tools (e.g. Jira, X-RAY, etc.)
- You have experience with simulating hardware and electronic systems (HIL and SIL)
- You have electronics knowledges that allows you to read and understand an electronic schematic.
- You have experience in testing software applications for embedded devices that are frequently updated in production.
- You know how to combine build-time quality tools and run-time quality data for maximizing the testing efforts value.
- You need to master at least two of the following competence areas and quickly learn what good looks like for the others:
- Manual testing of embedded applications integrated with embedded system software, target electronics, prototype hardware, lab networks and IoT ecosystems.
- Building test automation for embedded applications that provides scalable regression efforts.
- Test automation that simplifies root cause finding for developers.
- Create test configurations for multiple hardware and software modules.
- Build pipeline, code analysis, feature flag and analytics tools for modern embedded development.
